Xator offers a 40-hour training course for those interested in employment as a security officer. The course provides the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the roles, duties and responsibilities of a security officer. The training program is designed to prepare individuals to become a Class D licensed security officer. Upon passing the course examination, students are eligible to apply for a State of Florida security officer license. We offer assistance with the processing of the Class D license applications to enable eligible students to work as security officers immediately upon course completion.

The security officer training program will significantly improve the job performance and job enjoyment of those presently working in the field, as well as educate those seeking employment as a security officer with security agencies or in-house security departments, such as resorts, hospitals, condominiums, military installations, and corporate office buildings.

No high school diploma, GED, or experience in the security field is required, but candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have no criminal background.

Daytime classes are held at the Xator Corporation in downtown Fort Walton Beach. The classes are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. Special arrangements can be made to accommodate larger groups.
